The July D5 meeting was called to order by president Connie White, and the recording was started at that time as well. The program was presented by Lois Ruby, who is the author of over 20 historical fiction novels for middle-grade readers. She discussed how writing can be an addiction and how YA fiction is changing. She then gave attendees some practical tips about writing and publishing, including information about choosing an agent.
The meeting ended with a writing prompt to practice dialogue. After attendees were given time to write, a couple shared what they had written. Following an announcement about future meetings being hybrid, the meeting was adjourned at 3:11.
Information about the option for in-person attendance will be announced as soon as all is finalized. The Zoom meeting option will continue.
