In 2017, Connie White, author, and Martha Wherry, artist, collaborated on the children's book, Camo: the polka-dot pup. In their work together they both learned about how to work with another artist to produce a creation of words and images. In their presentation at the November meeting of District 5, they will share what they learned.
KAC District 5 member Connie Rae White (Author name: Connie Rae) worked her initial career life in medicine, fIrst as a medical technologist. Later, after her son was disabled with traumatic brain injury, she returned to university to become a registered Physician Assistant and worked in rural family medicine for eighteen years. On her retirement, she joined KAC to sharpen her writing skills. To date, she has published three children's books. Her most recent book "It's All Show Business" is the memoir of a gentleman that Connie worked for as an in-home caregiver.
KAC District 5 member Martha Wherry's art includes paintings, drawings, assemblages, jewelry, fiber and collage. Her work includes collaborative work with D5 poet Bob Dean that has appeared in The Ekphrastic Review.
