The August D5 meeting was called to order at 1:32 by president Connie White. Following introductions from the attendees, the program began and the recording was started.
Vice president Gretchen Eick introduced Julie Sellers, the 2020 KAC Prose Writer of the Year. She presented about narrative inquiry and how it could be used in both fiction and nonfiction writing. She began by defining narrative inquiry, then gave an example of when she has used it in her own writing. Following a description of the method of how to conduct a narrative inquiry, attendees were given time to practice, first by coming up with questions for two hypothetical interviews, and then by pairing up and conducting interviews. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00.
