KAC District 5 will host Tracy Edingfield Dunn, author of historical romances and middle grade fiction and former attorney, at their September meeting. Ms. Dunn wrote the following note concerning her presentation:
Dear Kansas Authors Club,
To get started, we’re going to do a Memory Exercise as it relates to emotion. To find what emotion drives your narrative, or should drive your narrative, think of past examples childhood memories and what impact they had on you, personally. Please share your experiences with the class. Using the emotion/colorwheel, we will pinpoint the overarching emotion then bring it to specificity in the outer circle.
We will examine writing samples where those kinds of emotions are in play, through dialogue and/or expositional passages.
Tracy Edingfield Dunn
