The meeting was called to order by Roy Beckemeyer. Following introductions, there were two announcements: an event with local authors at Barnes and Noble on July 27 and a reminder that Rhythm-a-Ning submissions were due on July 15. Secretary Amy Ackerman read the minutes and Roy Beckemeyer read the treasurer’s report. The account stands at $6382.79 following a $2000 deposit to the hotel and receiving convention registrations. Everyone was reminded that registrations after August 1 would cost an additional $30. [Note that the date for early bird rates has since been extended to August 15th.]
The program presented by Roy Stucky was entitled Just in Time: Lyric and the Unified Field Theory of Art. He talked about the history of song lyrics and discussed the creation of five of his own songs. He provided attendees with a handout including those five songs.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:04.
Respectfully submitted by Amy Ackerman, Secretary
