Annette Hope Billings is an award-winning Topeka, Kansas poet, playwright, actress and nurse. She has written two collections of poetry, one-act plays and numerous short stories. Her first book, A Net Full of Hope, received the Topeka's 2015 ARTSConnect ARTY Award for Literature. She performs across the country and is enthusiastically received wherever she speaks. Her most recent book, Descants for a Daughter, is a collection of affirmations/meditations and was released in late 2016. A yet-to-be-titled collection of poetry will be released this Fall.
Annette’s readings bring tears and smiles and draw the audience into her experience and the beauty of her words. She will read from her work and teach the Kansas Authors Club how elements of theater can optimize the impact of presenting poetry/prose.
She will ask for a couple of volunteers to share a short poem from memory and she will then lead discussions following.
Bring your notebooks as she will guide us through adventures into writing and presenting from a new perspectives. Annette will have copies of both books available for sale.

Parking: Due to the car show, please park in the lot at the far west end off Governeour by door 15 and use the phone at that door to be let in. Walk through the building from west to east to get to the Lakeview Room. Larksfield Place staff will be on site to help members navigate the
building.
