Hi folks:
I had a conversation today with Julie Sherwood at the library (the person I work with there) about this year's Epistrophy, and we both agree it should be cancelled. The library was on the way to cancelling it anyway, as they are going over their fall events calendar now and determining what they'll have to cancel, and Julie is sure Epistrophy would be one of the cancellations. The library still doesn't allow folks to come into the library other than to pick up already requested books or return books, and the city has a 15 person max on crowd limits; we'd have at least 15 participants alone. The library has moved all of their public use computers into the Conference Room, which is where we would hold Epistrophy, so we couldn't use that anyway. And we agreed that it's just too dangerous and will be through October and November, per all reliable sources. This is not an event that can be done virtually, so cancellation was the only option. We hope for better luck next year.
