The meeting was called to order at 1:32 by president Connie White. The speaker was Larry Hatteberg, longtime KAKE-TV personality and host of Hatteberg’s People. He discussed some of the challenges and gave some pointers on how to write for television news. He also told some stories about his time hosting Hatteberg’s People. Following his talk, there was a question and answer period where Mr. Hatteberg shared more about his career in journalism. The main meeting was adjourned at 3:15.
Following the main meeting, the board stayed on the Zoom. They began with a brief discussion of how to make it easier for people to join the meeting after it had started. They then moved into a discussion of the writing contest for Tracy Anderson’s students in Derby. Mrs. Anderson had sent the group some clarifying questions, and the group discussed how to craft the contest so those questions could be answered. The meeting was adjourned at 4:05.
