The meeting was called to order at 1:34 by president Connie White, who then welcomed a couple of new members. Vice president Gretchen Eick introduced the speaker for the meeting, Amy Sage Webb-Baza, who is a professor from Emporia State University and was a judge for the 2020 KAC Flash Fiction contest. She taught the attendees more about writing flash fiction and how it could be a useful tool for sparking ideas. She then walked the group through a guided writing prompt. Following the writing exercise, there was a brief read-around.
After the read-around, there were a few announcements. Connie White reminded everyone about the state contests, which are open from April 1-June 15. Robert Dean announced that Epistrophy 2021 will take place on October 23, although he wasn’t sure yet if it would be in-person or virtual. Following a question about it, Connie White briefly discussed the possibility of returning to in-person meetings sometime in the future.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:30.
