Wichita Eagle columnist, Suzanne Tobias, will be presenting Stories are Everywhere (or Why it Pays to Carry a Notebook) -- When Suzanne Perez Tobias started writing her weekly column about motherhood and family life for The Wichita Eagle more than a decade ago, she worried she would soon run out of material. That hasn't happened yet. Her writing has chronicled the life of her children as they've gone from preschool to high school and beyond. At November's meeting she'll talk about writers she loves, where she goes for inspiration, and how she looks for universal themes in everyday life.
Suzanne Perez Tobias is an education reporter and columnist for The Wichita Eagle. She is a first-generation American, born and raised in North Carolina, and has a degree in English from N.C. State University. She moved to Wichita in 1990 to begin working for The Eagle as a general-assignment news reporter. She currently covers education and writes an occasional column about family life, which runs Saturdays. Suzanne and her husband, Randy, a photographer, have two children -- Hannah, 18, and Jack, 16 -- who provide limitless joy, frustration, guilt and column ideas.
