Join us for the Kansas Authors Club District 5 monthly meeting on Saturday, February 14th at the Rockwell Branch Library in Wichita. Meeting runs from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Our Valentine gift to you will be a writing exercise. We will be breaking up into groups by writing style, interest, or genre, and writing a short piece in response to a prompt that will be provided by KAC Vice President Roy Beckemeyer.
Poets, novelists, non-fiction, short story, essay, feature writers - whatever your niche, come out for what we intend to be a fun learning opportunity. We will spend 20-30 minutes writing. After a short break, we will reassemble into groups and everyone will read their work in their group, and, if they wish, ask for feedback. The idea is to benefit from hearing how others respond to the prompt, how they write, and to pick up useful tips as well as to get help, if you wish, for whatever writing problems you feel you have. This will be a non-threatening, supportive event. You may ask for constructive criticism, for feedback only on what things you did well, or whatever level of feedback you want.
Bring your laptop, tablet, notebook and pencil or pen, whatever tool you use as a writer. This should be fun!
