Dear Members,
We hope you have enjoyed the past year of KAC D5 meetings and activities. Attendance at meetings throughout the year has run around 25 to 30, and feedback has generally been favorable.
Now is the time for you to help make 2015 even better.
Ray Racobs, who took on the nominating committee chairman's job, and Roy Beckemeyer have been approaching people about taking on jobs for 2015. As of now, we have nominees for President, Treasurer, Newsletter and Blog Editor, Publicity Chair and Membership Chair. Thanks to the folks who agreed to take these jobs on for the next year.
We have YET TO FIND candidates for either Vice President or for Secretary.
!!! Since new officers are to be voted on and presented at the December meeting (coming up this Saturday, December 13) to allow publication of our District's officer list in the Yearbook, we are in a bit of a fix. !!!
Please, please, please let us know if you are willing to have your name be put forward for either of these jobs. And please let us know within the next day or two.
This is the time to step up and take an active role in Kansas Authors Club. You will enjoy it, get satisfaction from your accomplishments, and learn. And you will be helping the rest of us.
In this SEASON of GIVING, won't you give your fellow members of KAC D5 a gift and put your name forward for nomination?
Call or email one of us today or tomorrow, but do please call as soon as you can.

- The job of Secretary involves taking minutes during monthly member meetings and at any board meetings, and providing those minutes to the Blog/Newsletter Chair for publication.
- The job of Vice President involves planning and implementing the monthly program (making arrangements with presenters, introducing the presenter at the meeting, and providing the Blog/Newsletter Chair with information for advertising upcoming meetings). (The VP has also traditionally served as District contact for the Youth and Karnowski writing awards, but that portion of the job can be reassigned if it would keep any of you from taking on the job.)
