"Social Media: So Many Choices" will cover the very basics of blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Triberr, Google+ and Linked-In. Starla Criser will explain highlights of the pros and cons of each one, in connection with writers. KAC members will be asked to share their experiences and advise. This is important information all writers need regardless of what they write. Social media is an excellent way to promote your work. Join District 5 members at Rockwell Library, 5930 E. 9th Street, Wichita, on Saturday, June 14 from 2:00-4:00p.m. to hear Starla Criser discuss Social Media. District meetings are open to KAC members and the public without charge. We hope to see you there! Make plans now to hear Gordon Kessler discuss ePublishing at the District 5 meeting this Saturday, May 10. The meeting will be at the Rockwell Library in Wichita from 2:00-4:00pm. We hope to see you there. Gordon A Kessler has been writing thriller novels for over twenty years and teaching novel writing nearly as long. He has had “million-dollar” NYC literary agents and has had traditional publishing contracts only to see them fall through. He’s turned down deals with small publishers in favor of “indie” publishing and now has fifteen titles published, all of them in eBooks and nine in print. These titles include his big thrillers Brainstorm, Dead Reckoning and Jezebel, as well as three fast and fun adult, action/adventure novels in his “The E Z Knight Reports” series. Gordon has consulted on hundreds of novels, short stories, screenplays and nonfiction books and has also helped dozens of writers get their work published in both eBook and print with his consulting, editing, cover design, and formatting services. His books Novel Writing Made Simple and EBook Writing Made Simple are great primers for the novice writer and important refreshers for the experienced author. A frequent speaker at conferences and writers’ functions around the Midwest, Gordon is also a Master Instructor and adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College. He is a founder of the Kansas Writers Association, a past president of Kansas Author’s Club District 2, and proprietor of the Indie Writers Alliance. You can find out more about Gordon and his work at: http://gordonkessler.com and http://www.IndieWritersAlliance.com, or simply email him at: [email protected].
